An Cafe in Neo Tokyo magazine (english ver.)
Antic Cafe or An Cafe is a japanese Harajuku Rock Kei style band that is, by their happy and catchy songs or their colorful and flashy looks, won a huge number of fans to whom they call "Cafekko" who are scattered all over the world.

Career
The band was born in May 2003, when Miku, vocalist of the band Revirii, joined the guitarrist Bou and the bassist Kanon, forming the An Cafe. They started playing in events with other best-known bands, with out an drummer.
Over time, the band got a good fan base, and had released two tracks called "Opungu" and "Hatsukoi". Yet in 2003, a new member enters in the group, Teruki, drummer of the band "Feathers-blue", becoming official member of An Cafe.
In 2004, the band gets a record deal with Loop Ash, and in march the same year released the first single, titled "Candy holic", and two weeks later is the second in the ranking Oricon, Japan's most famous.
After two months the first live of An Cafe, debut event of the new single: Hatsukoi.
The following months were a lot of unrest for the band, releasing more other singles, the group won a special publication in the SHOXX magazine for the dissemination and also a DVD.
In 2005, An Cafe released their first single, titled Amedama Rock, composed of all previously released singles, and the presence of an additional unpublished, Harakuri Hitei.
In November of that year and released another album called Shikisai moment. In it is evident the musical evolution of An Cafe, but true to the usual style.
In 2006 the band was consecrated as the biggest oshare kei band in Japan, or Harajuku kei, as they themselves call it, and started a tour called Nyappy go Around, which went all over Japan.
The group released other singles, among them, 10's collection march and Bonds~Kizuna, followed by the second album, Magnya Carta.
An cafe New generation
After all these events, in 2007 a ??sad revelation shakes thousands of Cafekko, the output of guitarist Bou, one of the most important members. The live titled Hibiya on the o New Sekai was attended with the presence of thousands of Cafekko from all over who came to see his final performance, which was on April 30. It was not disclosed the exact reason for his departure, but Bou revealed that wanted to follow their dreams and not deceive cafekko more.
After losing a member, the band did an not official search for another talent that could replace Bou. Thus, two new members have joined the band, Takuya as guitarrist and Yuuki as a keyboardist.
The band continued in full swing, releasing six more singles, that are Kakusei Heroism, ~ The hero without a name~, Ryuuusei Rocket, Cherry Saku Yuuki, Summer dive and My Heart Leaps for 'c', plus an album: Koakuma USAGI no koibumi to Machine gun in 2008 and Aroma in 2009.
After many rumors, for the happiness of all the brazilian fans, the band, which had passed by many other countries finally come to Brazil. The tour LIVE CAFE TOUR' 09 NYAPPY GO AROUND THE WORLD ll , held in Sao Paulo, occurred on April 5, 2009 had the presence of Cafekko from various parts of the country.
The tour booked concerts in Argentina, Chile and Mexico.
On August 31, 2009, was announced on their official myspace that, after the show to be held on January 4, 2010 in Tokyo at the Nippon budoukan, the band would go on hiatus (pause) indefinitely.
After the show, a big message appeared on the stadium screens: "Thank you, Next Live, 20xx- Summer Dive, See you again."
This made many people feel happy with the hope of the band's return.
The path of each one...
With the hiatus, each went his way. Miku has formed a new band called LC5, with a visual and songs more obscure, accompanied by former members of bands known. LC5 was successful from the start because of the popularity of the vocalist.
Takuya was not very active until he became the guitarrist support of japanese vocalist Piko. He appeared in several videos and played in Japan Anime live, in Europe.
Kanon came in various projects after the pause of band, especially his announcement about a game called Pinky Distortion, focused on a visual kei band. The game was produced for Japanese mobile phones, and the characters of the band Dis;code resemble the other members of An Cafe.
The game was released by StudioBlue-3, the production company that created by Kanon to release his games.
Also involved in a project called KanonxKanon, together with singer Kanon Wakeshima.
In November 2010 the single Calendula Requiem was released.
Like Takuya, Yuuki is also new in the music world. In half 2010 he joined the band Dacco as support member, with an cheerful and colorful style, that make Yuuki as fans have become accustomed.
Finnaly, Teruki has opened a official page on internet and engaged more with the fans, translating posts in japanese for english, making more people join him. During the hiatus, Teruki began to practice more on drums, and came as support for bands like Dog in the parallel world orchestra, but has announced that will no longer be support member.
Curiosities:
The "Nyappy" word was created by Miku, and is the combination of words "happy" and "nya", and means HAPPY, but can be used like "It's allright", "ok" or even as a greeting between Cafekko.
The opposite of Nyappy is un-nyappy, that means sad.
Nyappy-chan is the mascot of Miku, he bought in June 13, 2007 and her birthday is in April 14. She is a mix of Chihuahua with Shih Tzu.

If you is a J-rock fan and are searching an new band, An Cafe is a nice choice. Still haven't a precise date of when the band will be back, but all fans are looking forward to return of An Cafe.
